After more than 15 years of serving clients in civil/site engineering, Ashton Fritz founded Fritz Engineering Services in 2017 with a focus on building lasting client relationships and providing successful project delivery.

Ashton L. Fritz, PE, CFM, CPESC
Principal, Head of Civil/Site Engineering
Ashton is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Colorado. He is a graduate of Clarkson University, and he has served both private developers and municipal clients in various types of projects throughout his more than 20-year career.
His expertise includes commercial/retail/office developments, residential subdivisions, multi-family complex development, municipal stormwater and wastewater design as well as plan review for several Indiana cities and utility operators. Ashton is also a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and has provided floodplain analysis, review, and permitting for both private and public sectors.

Nickolas Schmitt, PE, PS
Head of Land Surveying, Senior Project Manager
Nick is a graduate of Purdue University with nearly 20 years of Land Surveying and Civil Engineering experience. He currently holds both a Professional Engineer License and a Professional Land Surveyor License in the state of Indiana.
His expertise in land surveying includes boundary surveys, legal descriptions, easement preparation, subdivision platting, right-of-way engineering, location control route surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, and field data collection. As a Professional Engineer, Nick is experienced in commercial, retail and office developments, multi-family complex developments, trails, and stormwater and wastewater design, as well as plan review for various Indiana municipalities.

Justin Curtis
Survey Crew Chief
Justin began training and developing the skills he would need for a future career in land surveying more than twenty years ago. He is a graduate of Indiana University / Purdue University Indianapolis and earned an associate degree in Architectural Technology.
Justin has worked as an AutoCAD Technician, crew member, and crew chief for various organizations in the state of Indiana throughout his career. He has experience with private and public sector boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, location control route surveys, topographical surveys, field data collection, and as-built surveys. Justin is also an expert in construction staking for site layout.

Keith Gajownik
Project Designer
Keith has worked in master planning and site design for 20 years. He is a graduate of Purdue University, and his land development experience allows him to effectively apply functional and workable solutions to meet the needs of clients, municipalities, and owners.
Keith is skilled in all phases of the project lifecycle including project management, design, engineering, construction documentation, permitting, and construction administration. His professional projects include municipal parks, city streetscapes, commercial and industrial sites, floodway reforestations, trail systems, residential subdivisions and mixed use developments, outdoor athletic complexes, and golf courses.

Holly Fritz, EI
Project Specialist
Holly is an expert project manager responsible for new project setup and coordination, client relations, and general administrative management at Fritz Engineering. She holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University.
Holly has worked in project management for more than 20 years—successfully managing projects that range from small to extremely large scale. She has experience with both building expansion and new construction projects, and her expertise in pre-construction planning and estimating, capital allocation and budgeting, and schedule management lends a unique perspective that helps Fritz Engineering to better relate to client needs.
